Tension will always be a subjective factor, and when we can develop comprehensive data we will provide the ability to calculate exactly what you can expect from our strings.

In the interim we provide two 'flavors' and one variant in this regard; Traditional which has an increasing tensions as you got from low ti high, and Balanced which has more consistent tension across the fretboard. The variant is our Drop Tuning sets; the bottom strings is intended to be lower in pitch by a whole step, and is a balanced set about the low string

Traditionally tensioned sets are the rule as strings are concerned and are likely what you currently use.

Balanced tension sets are the exception but are growing in popularity. They provide a more consistent output from string to string and allow for more consistent technique across the fretboard.

There is no right or wrong with either approach - just an option that most manufacturers don't offer.

If you are considering a balanced tension set you are encouraged to think about what you like about the strings you are using. In balanced sets the treble side is considerably less tight than a traditional set, and if this is an important characteristic in the strings you use you may want to come by thicker gauges on the bass side of your string set than you normally would.

A characteristic that will remain with our strings is their flexibility - there is greater tonal content in a string that is more free to move. This gives them a feel that leans toward the loose side, but can be compensated for by upping slightly the gauges you may be accustomed to.

Play with your ears and not your eyes. We wind some pretty thick strings that may seem intimidating. With proper instrument setup these strings will amaze you.
